Micro Crystal AG’s new Real-time Clock Module RV-3028-C7 sets the new benchmark for lowest power consumption: 40 nA at a supply 3 V.

The high accuracy of ±1 ppm at room temperature eliminates any calibration during manufacturing. The tiny package of just 3.5 x 1.5 x 0.8 mm combines the quartz crystal with the RTC circuit, offering also an integrated battery-back-up switch. The extreme low power consumption allows using MLCC capacitors to cover the back-up time. Mouser to Stock Micro Crystal’s RTC Modules and Eval Boards

Mouser is now stocking Micro Crystal’s Real-Time Clock modules, which combine a 32.768 kHz tuning fork crystal resonator with a CMOS-based oscillator and RTC integrated circuit, perfectly factory calibrated inside a miniature ceramic SMD package. Each module is designed to address the demand for high accuracy, temperature compensation, and ultra-low current consumption. The modules provide standard clock and calendar functions and are available in tolerances from 2ppm to 20ppm with options including I2C or SPI interface, alarm, interrupt, power management, RAM / EEPROM memory, extended operating temperature range up to 125 degrees Celsius, and AEC-Q200 automotive qualification. Mouser is also stocking evaluation boards, which include corresponding RTC modules for facilitated evaluation.  http://bit.ly/2rnOpBk
